The kolea (Pacific Golden Plover) is one
of the most beautiful birds on our campus.
Every year, several of them make our playground their home for much of
the school year. These amazing birds migrate yearly
between the Alaskan tundra and areas in the Pacific. In Hawaii, we call them
“kolea” and in Alaska, the Yupit call them “tuusiik .” Come visit the different pages on this
website to find out a little bit more about this incredible bird. |
